About Us
At The Book Shelf®, we’ve been bringing nonfiction to life since 2018. We’ve worked on over 1,500 books with authors around the globe… from first-timers to New York Times bestsellers. We help entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers turn their knowledge into professionally published books. Our role is simple: to help important ideas reach the people who need them.
OUR AUTHORS
Publishing a book requires far more than writing. Editing, design, production, printing, distribution, metadata, and marketing all play a role in whether a book succeeds. Most of our authors are busy leading organisations, running businesses, or creating change in their industries. They don’t have the time or desire to become publishing experts. That’s where we come in. Our team manages the publishing process from start to finish, producing professional and commercially competitive books.
OUR IMPACT
We believe that books have the power to change lives, shape industries, and challenge assumptions. Our authors have become bestselling authors, won awards, and landed speaking opportunities including TED Talks. They’ve used their books to grow their businesses, launch movements, and create impact. Many of our books have created meaningful change far beyond the page.
SUSTAINABILITY
We are committed to producing books responsibly. We protect 10 acres of rainforest for every author, with over 1000 acres protected to date through our partner the Rainforest Trust. Where possible, we work with environmentally conscious suppliers and sustainable printers to reduce our impact on the planet. We are proud to hold the Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Tick.
HYBRID PUBLISHING
We sit between traditional publishing and self-publishing. Traditional publishing rejects 99% majority of submissions and pays royalty rates of 5-10%. Self-publishing offers control but authors have to be their own publishers. Hybrid publishing combines professional publishing expertise with higher royalty rates and faster production times. We believe this offers many nonfiction authors a balance of quality, speed, and support.
