The right narrator can completely change how a book feels, so we select from a range of professional voice actors. We are also open to the author’s input on our final selections.

Potentially, yes. If our audiobook partner has a studio near you or you have access to a professional-quality recording setup, it may be possible to narrate the audiobook yourself. If you’re used to podcasting or public speaking, you may be well-placed to record your own audiobook, and readers may connect more with this if your voice is well-known.

However, audiobook production has strict technical standards, especially for platforms like ACX, so we’d need to assess whether self-narration is the right fit for both the book and the listener experience.

We distribute through ACX, which supplies Audible and Amazon. Depending on the distribution route chosen, audiobooks may also become available on platforms such as Apple Books, Spotify, and other retailers.

A professional narrator will usually move through the process much faster than a first-time author learning how to narrate for the first time. Some books are also far more technically demanding to record and edit than others.
